LEARNING AS A CONSISTENT PROCESS MAKES GROWTH A CONSTANT RESULT

Continuous learning is a process where a person learns on an ongoing basis. Every person learns differently. Different methods work for each one of us. Some of us learn better through audio-visual techniques, and some of us may use practical methods. Whether it’s formal or informal type of learning, it helps us to grow. Formal education, i.e. School, university, professional training programs etc. helps us understand methods through theory and makes the base for practical learning. Informal learning, i.e., co-working, conversations, etc. helps us to implement the knowledge gained from formal education.

Most important and first step of the continuous learning process is self-initiative. One needs to take an initiative to start and maintain consistency in learning. Take an example of exercising. When you start, it seems difficult, but as you build momentum and consistency, it gets easier and you see results and growth. In the same way, learning a new skill or learning something new seems difficult at first, but with consistency and reinforcement, you get there.

Another important part of continuous learning is willingness and openness to learn, keep your mind open to learning new things, you sometimes might have to unlearn an old habit or way, to learn something new but that will give a fresh perspective and hence be more efficient.

Continuous learning protects you from stagnation. When you consistently work through a process, it keeps you striving towards new perspectives and not sticking to old ways, hence growth. It helps you to adapt to changes in today’s fast-paced life. As you keep learning, it gets easier for you to adjust to new scenarios or techniques and when you can adapt to changes, you definitely grow. Last, continuous learning helps you stay relevant. With continuous changes, you need to be aware of new developments happening and learning helps you be aware and be adaptive of those developments;hence helping you grow constantly in your path.
